Gov’t Mule – led by GRAMMY® Award-winning vocalist, songwriter, guitar legend, and producer Warren Haynes – has announced the details for their annual Mule-O-Ween celebration. The band will make their triumphant return to New Orleans on Saturday, October 29th at the Orpheum Theater for their first show in The Big Easy since 2019. Pre-sale tickets for the Halloween show will be available on Wednesday, September 7th at 10am Central Time, with the public on-sale commencing Friday, September 9th at 10am Central Time.

The special Mule-O-Ween show will wrap up Gov’t Mule’s upcoming fall tour, which launches September 17th with a sold-out show at The Fox Theatre in Boulder followed by a headlining performance at the Telluride Blues & Brews Festival where they will be joined by The Levee Horns. The renowned quartet – Haynes, Matt Abts [drums], Danny Louis [keyboards, guitar, and backing vocals], and Jorgen Carlsson [bass] – will then make their way throughout the South for a mix of headlining dates, co-bills with Old Crow Medicine Show and Blues Traveler, shows with very special guests Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs, and a few dates featuring The Soul Rebels opening. The road warriors are also set to close out the year with their annual New Year’s Run, a three-night stand kicking off December 29th at The Met in Philadelphia and then returning to The Beacon Theatre in New York City, the band’s unofficial home-court venue, for back-to-back shows on December 30th and 31st. Gov’t Mule is touring in support of their critically acclaimed and chart-topping blues album, Heavy Load Blues (Fantasy Records), their first-ever blues album. Gov’t Mule also recently revealed the details for Island Exodus 13, the ultimate annual “concert-cation” experience hosted by the band and Haynes. The multi-day event, returning to Jewel Paradise Cove Beach Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica from January 15-29, 2023, will feature performances from Gov’t Mule, Warren Haynes, Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience, Duane Betts, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, and Little Days with special guests Jimmy Vivino and Ron Holloway. Tickets are on sale now; visit www.islandexodus.com for more info and ticketing details.

Heavy Load Blues, produced by Haynes alongside engineer and co-producer John Paterno (Elvis Costello, Michael Landau, Bonnie Raitt, Robbie Williams, Los Lobos), debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart upon its release last fall and has since amassed over 5 million total global streams. The album encompasses an even mix of Haynes’ originals, such as “Heavy Load,” and revered covers, including their rendition of the Tom Waits classic “Make It Rain,” a groovy arrangement of the Junior Wells standard “Snatch It Back and Hold It,” and more originally made famous by the likes of Howlin’ Wolf, Elmore James, Ann Peebles, Bobby “Blue” Bland, and The Animals. The deluxe edition features 8 additional studio and live tracks, including the Haynes original “Hiding Place” and covers originally by Savoy Brown, Sonny Boy Williamson, Muddy Waters and Otis Rush. Though technically considered a studio album, Heavy Load Blues was recorded live in the studio at The Power Station New England on analog tape, utilizing vintage guitars, amps and other equipment to capture an authentic sound. Worldwide, the album has received critical praise and support from the likes of Consequence, Guitar World, BrooklynVegan, No Depression, Ultimate Classic Rock, PopMatters, Downbeat, Classic Rock, Relix, Guitar Magazine, Paste and many more.
