The War And Treaty Announce 2022 Tour

Powerhouse duo The War And Treaty will return to the Grand Ole Opry this Saturday (2/19), before embarking on their 2022 tour run. As more dates are announced, the husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter “continue their commando, no-limits journey to the top of the music world” (Associated Press) as they make their debut at the Tortuga Music Festival (4/09) and return to the New Orleans Jazz Festival (4/29). “One of Nashville’s hottest acts” (Rolling Stone) is known for “flooring music festival crowds and consistently winning over new fans” (Wide Open Country) after notable stops at Austin City Limits, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Moon Crush along with a stint at Radio City Music Hall.

Known for a live show nearly revival-like in its intensity, they “build up waves of emotion that crash into a cathartic release of a tour-de-force performance,” (Austin-American Statesman) as the versatile duo has opened for artists such as Al Green, Brandi Carlile, Jason Isbell, John Legend and Lauren Daigle. This May, they will serve as direct support for Van Morrison (5/7-5/10), before the International Folk Music Awards “2021 Artist of the Year” make an overseas trek this summer to Australia, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom and Scotland.

With “voices that will stop you in your tracks” (Garden & Gun) The War And Treaty “sing to heal everyone in their audiences,” (NPR). As their fanbase continues to expand exponentially, The War And Treaty feel more inspired by the “Hearts Town” community and its boundless potential for mutual uplift. Sharing the same name as their recent critically acclaimed album, HEARTS TOWN, the record unfailingly harnesses the thrilling vitality of their live set, as each song spotlights the duo’s heart-on-sleeve storytelling and poetic simplicity.

The War And Treaty have amassed a following as eclectic as their sound as they “are among the greatest vocalists in the entire Americana genre,” (Music Row) with a bluesy but joyful fusion of Southern soul, gospel, Country, and rock-and-roll. The husband-and-wife team of Michael Trotter Jr. and Tanya Trotter prove why they are “one of Nashville’s hottest acts” (Rolling Stone) following their latest widely acclaimed release, HEARTS TOWN. The sprawling 12-song collection, co-produced by the Trotter’s along with longtime guitarist Max Brown, is a symphonic paean that offers “all the wisdom of their experience and fierce determination to find joy, power…and thrive,” (NPR Music). Their multifaceted collaborative efforts include Dierks Bentley, Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Leslie Jordan, Mumford & Sons, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Sturgill Simpson. For more information visit
