This August, LOCKN’ fans are invited to embark on a new journey called LOCKN’ FARM SUMMER 2021, a concert series featuring three weekends of live music, food, activities, and camping under the stars. LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021 will be held August 13 – 15, August 20 – 22, and August 27 – 29, at LOCKN’ Farm (formerly known as Infinity Downs Farm), LOCKN’s 387-acre property located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Arrington, VA. With reduced capacity, LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021 keeps the LOCKN’ spirit alive by producing unforgettable, unique, and authentic live experiences. Each weekend will be special in its own way, with a different band headlining star-studded lineups that celebrate the past, present, and future of LOCKN’. Of course, all three weekends will also feature an array of activities to enrich the summer days and nights while creating lifelong memories for all who attend.
“LOCKN’, the music festival, has had an amazing run, with hundreds of thousands of fans witnessing countless epic performances and collaborations by hundreds of legendary artists,” says Peter Shapiro, Promoter, LOCKN’ FARM. “Given the realities of COVID-19 and the world we now live in, it feels like the right moment to do something new and a bit more intimate, while keeping the best of what the four-day festival has offered since 2013. This August, LOCKN’ will become a weekly destination — LOCKN’ FARM — a place with a history of good vibes and magic, and instead of hosting a single annual festival we will sprinkle the LOCKN’ spirit across multiple music and camping weekends. Positive things often emerge out of challenging times, and LOCKN’s evolution from a single-weekend festival to a place where bands can host their own special events is going to be one of them.”
LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021 will get underway Friday, August 13 to Sunday, August 15 with headliners Joe Russo’s Almost Dead performing six sets over three days, joined by special guests The Slip each night. In addition, Friday and Saturday night will see late-night jams and camaraderie thanks to Garcia’s Forest Improv Sessions Hosted by John Medeski and Billy Martin. Admission tickets are available now via Front Gate Tickets HERE; camping passes are available HERE.
Friday, August 20 to Sunday, August 22 will feature “Goose Presents FRED the Festival,” a historic three-day event headlined by Goose. Guests include Dawes performing Black Sabbath’s Paranoid plus a full set of original songs, Dr. Dog, Hiss Golden Messenger, Cory Wong, Grateful Shred, and Sammy Rae & The Friends. After an eight-year hiatus, Vasudo will also be featured at FRED the Festival. Regarded as Goose’s musical predecessor, Vasudo’s feel-good sound can be described as Jamaica meets Nashville. A hearty mix of energetic and eclectic, the sprightly quintet features Rick Mitarotonda (Guitar, Vocals), Matt Campbell (Keys, Vocals), Peter Anspach (Keys, Vocals), Trevor Weekz (Bass), and Jeff Arevalo (Drums). FRED will also include a set by aGOOSEtic TRIO plus after-hours jams in Garcia’s Forest from Ben Atkind’s Elephant Proof. Admission tickets are available now via Front Gate Tickets HERE; camping passes are available HERE.
Closing out LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021 on Friday, August 27 to Sunday, August 29 will feature a weekend of collaborative magic headlined by Tedeschi Trucks (performing Saturday and Sunday). Guests include Academy Award-winning musician Jon Batiste with his first-ever visit to the Farm on Sunday, longtime LOCKN’ favorites The Marcus King Band (performing Friday and Saturday), Lettuce, and Gabe Dixon Band. Admission tickets are available now via Front Gate Tickets HERE; camping passes are available HERE.
A variety of on-site and off-site accommodations are available for LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021. Please note a camping pass does not solely grant entry. Access to the campsites will only be permitted with a weekend admission ticket. Camping passes are per campsite, and admission tickets are per person. All campsite guests must have an event admission ticket/wristband.
LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021 will of course include a wide range of activities, spanning the LOCKN’ Farm Color Olympics and Open Jam Sessions at Terrapin Stage to Disc-Golf, morning yoga sessions, and the one and only LOCKN’ Outdoor Arcade. A special Prayer Flag Meadow will pay tribute to and memory of the people and industries affected by Covid-19; attendees are invited to create their own prayer flag and place it in the Prayer Flag Meadow.
Biking and hiking are a fun and convenient way to explore LOCKN’. Attendees who bring hiking shoes, bikes (and helmets), can enjoy some of the best private trails in Virginia; bike racks will be provided at the event site and around the venue.
The safety of the LOCKN’ Farm community is our top priority. LOCKN’ Farm Summer 2021 will follow CDC guidelines, as well as any additional guidelines set by local and state authorities.
