White Denim advance on a banner year for their critically acclaimed album, Performance, by announcing West Coast spring tour dates, including LA’s Teragram Ballroom on April 26th (pre-sale tickets for headlining shows are available now with password: PERFORMANCE) and their debut at Red Rocks Amphitheater with moe. and Mike Gordon. A full itinerary is listed below. The Austin, TX-based band today also released a charged new live performance video recorded as part of PBS’ Echo Sessions series. Returning to Asheville, NC’s Echo Mountain Studio, where they recorded parts of previous album Stiff, the 45-minute video finds White Denim in top form after months of touring North America and Europe, with multiple sold out shows and a return to late night TV’sConan the week of Performance’s release. Watch the Echo Session at YouTube HERE.

Performance has earned White Denim career-high reviews from outlets, includingPitchfork, Texas Monthly, Austin Chronicle (4/5), Exclaim! (9/10), Relix, Uncut (8/10), Mojo(David Fricke’s Album of the Month, 4/5), The Independent (4/5), and PopMatters (8/10), as well as features in NPR Music’s New Music Friday podcast (“there’s a lot to get lost in”), Noisey (Rank Your Records), Relix (2 page Track by Track), and Modern Drummer, to name a few. Lead singles “Magazin” (LINK) and “It Might Get Dark” (LINK) both went straight onto the BBC 6Music A-list and the band went on to film a 20-minute set for BBC Radio last week, recorded live at the famous Maida Vale studio 4. Performance was recorded over eight weeks mainly in Radio Milk – White Denim’s new studio in downtown Austin – and self-produced by the band, with Jim Vollentine. The feeling of liberation and elastic possibility twinned with conviction that defined previous albums such as Fits and Last Day of Summer is key to Performance – that sense of energy and purpose is renewed here and doubled down with a truckload of attitude.
