Davy Knowles has announced two visits to Europe for confirmed appearances that have been scheduled surrounding his North American dates.  The band leader will stage performances in the Netherlands and UK next month, featuring a show at Nell’s in London on May 11, and a return to his hometown of the Isle of Man on the 13th and 14th.  In July, Knowles will make a second trip overseas to perform at the Montreux Jazz Festival as a solo attraction.  A complete itinerary follows below.
Last month the guitarist launched a monthly bootleg series that can be purchased for $8.00.  The digital downloads are only available through his site, and each EP will feature six live tracks.  For more detail: http://davyknowles.com/officialbootleghome/.  The inaugural set presents the vocalist / guitarist performing “What You’re Made Of,” “Riverbed,” “Falling Apart,” “Coming Up For Air,” “Come Home,” and a cover of the Traffic classic “Dear Mr. Fantasy.” All recordings were captured on an East Coast tour of the U.S.  The second installment, “#2,” culls performances from a recent Mid-West U.S. run, presenting a brand-new song titled “First Words Of A Changing Man,” alongside “Never Gonna Be The Same,” “Overload,” “Gotta Leave,” “Garbage Man” (Muddy Waters), “and the title track from his recently released Three Miles From Avalon.  The repertoire can streamed here: https://soundcloud.com/davy-knowles/sets/feb-2017-official-bootleg/s-gHC2A.
On April 28, Knowles will release a new EP titled 1932, presenting a collection of songs performed exclusively on his cherished 1932 National Guitar which he purchased during his first tour of the U.S.  He shares, “I’ve always found my old National guitar to be such an inspiring instrument.  It’s always given that ‘instant mojo’ to every track I’ve used it on in the past. I thought it was high time I did a project purely on this fantastic machine.” For a preview click here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5hgfcf7gih23ds7/1932%20Trailer.mp4?dl=0.
