Lockn’ Announces 2017 Rockn’ to Lockn’, Virginia Bands Compete to Perform

Arrington, Virginia – The LOCKN’ Festival is excited to announce the opening of submissions for the 2017 Rockn’ To LOCKN’ battle of the bands competition. Now in its fourth year, Rockn’ To LOCKN’ gives local Virginia bands an opportunity to compete for coveted performance slots at the LOCKN’ Festival held August 24-27 in Arrington, Virginia.
To enter Rockn’ To LOCKN’ each band must be Virginia based and follow the submission guidelines at http://locknfestival.com/RocknToLockn2017. Entries are due by 5pm on February 11, 2017.
Selection Process –
First Round – 20 bands will be chosen as first round finalists from all qualified submissions. These 20 bands will become a part of a national on-line fan voting competition with fans choosing their favorites.
Second Round – From there, the top 12 bands will move on to the next round of live club performances and in-person fan voting. Club performances will take place in April at Virginia clubs still to be determined. Fans in the crowd will cast their in-person votes narrowing down to the top 6 bands.
Final Competition: The six finalist must each perform at the final competition on June 17, 2017 at Community Day at Infinity Downs Farm in Arrington, Virginia. Bands will perform in front of a live crowd with in-person voting to determine the 3 grand prize winners.
Winners – The three grand prize winning bands will each receive a general performance spot at the LOCKN’ Festival, August 24-27 in Arrington, Virginia plus a $500 performance fee.
Past Rockn’ To LOCKN’ winners include Erin & The Wildfire, People’s Blues of Richmond, Lord Nelson, Southern Belles, Seth Stainback & Roosterfoot, Dharma Initiative, DJ Williams Projekt, and Moogatu.

The LOCKN’ Music Festival is held annually on the last weekend in August at the Oak Ridge and Infinity Downs Farms in Arrington, Virginia and draws between 25-35,000 music fans from all over the world.
