Jackie Greene has toured with the likes of Phil Lesh, The Black Crowes, B.B. King, Susan Tedeschi, Buddy Guy, and more, cementing his place as one of Americana’s brightest talents. Anointed the “cowboy poet” by Bob Weir, Greene will tour California with six shows through the end of 2016.

Greene will also play a special New Year’s Eve hometown show at the Crest Theatre with his band: Nathan Dale (Guitars, Vocals), Fitz Harris (Drums, Vocals), Jon Cornell (Bass), and Jackie Greene (Vocals, Acoustic/Electric Guitars, Hammond B3, Piano, Harmonica).

The “reigning prince, [and] wandering minstrel” (San Francisco Chronicle) of Americana recently performed with Bob Weir (with whom Greene has toured), Phil Lesh, and a dozen other musicians for his annual birthday party show at San Francisco’s The Warfield: http://www.relix.com/blogs/detail/jackie_greenes_birthday_celebration_at_the_warfield_a_gallery

The San Francisco Chronicle called Greene’s performance “dialed in” while praising his “sheer virtuosity” and “natural and intuitive connection” to his guitar playing. With the show growing to as many as twelve players on stage at one time, the energy and sheer joy from the stage produced a one-of-a-kind musical moment: http://www.sfchronicle.com/music/article/Weir-Lesh-and-other-Bay-Area-elite-jam-for-10638800.php

Growing up as a self taught pianist and guitarist, Greene wrote and performed songs for many years while honing his songwriting craft inspired by vintage rock, country, blues and R&B. Greene released his self-produced and self-released debut album ‘Rusty Nails’ in 2003. With each new release, Greene’s reputation grew and led him to open for the likes of B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Susan Tedeschi, Huey Lewis, Mark Knopfler, and Taj Mahal. In 2013, Greene joined the reunited Black Crowes as lead guitarist, and in 2014, Greene joined Joan Osborne and Crowes’ drummer Steve Gorman to form the supergroup Trigger Hippy, which released its self-titled debut that year. Greene’s most recent release was ‘Back to Birth’ on Yep Roc. Since 2007, Greene has been a frequent member of Phil Lesh & Friends, contributing lead guitar and vocals. Greene has also toured with Bob Weir and Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson as the acoustic trio WRG, and he joined the late Levon Helm in his famous Midnight Ramble shows.
