The Milk Carton Kids Join Tour To Assist Refugees


Last week The Milk Carton Kids received a rousing standing ovation for their live performance of their song, “Memphis” at the Americana Music Awards show where they were nominated for Duo/Group of the Year. This week the acclaimed duo is announcing several additional events.

The Milk Carton Kids will be playing the Lampedusa Concerts for Refugees, joining a roster that includes Emmylou Harris, Robert Plant, Steve Earle, and various special guests. The concerts will benefit the Jesuit Refugee Service’s Global Education Initiative, which helps displaced people heal, learn, and thrive by providing educational opportunities for refugees living in camps and urban settings in 45 countries.

The duo is also participating in Howard Stern’s Tribute to the Beatles’ Revolver special honoring the 50th anniversary of The Beatles’ groundbreaking 1966 album. Other artists contributing renditions from the album include James Taylor, Grouplove, J Mascis, Cheap Trick, Grace Potter, among others. The Milk Carton Kids will also be guests on The Howard Stern Wrap Up Show on October 18th.

In addition, TMCK will be featured on The Life and Songs of Emmylou Harris, out on DVD, Blue Ray and CD this Nov 11th. The recording documents the all-star concert, which also includes performances by Kris Kristofferson, Iron & Wine, Alison Krauss, Patty Griffin, Conor Oberst, Shovels & Rope, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Emmylou Harris herself and many more.

The Milk Carton Kids will be performing in a series of theatres and performing arts centers to finish off 2016.
