Just prior to the celebration of their 2000th show on November 8, Umphrey’s McGee has announced dates for their 2015 Winter Tour. The tour picks up after two nights at New York’s Beacon Theatre with the sextet kicking things off in the Deep South on January 28 in Oxford, MS. From there, Umphrey’s will head out on a coast to coast run that will end at the MNoore Theatre in Seattle on March 21. View full tour dates HERE.
Along with their 2000th show, 2014 has been a year of milestones for Umphrey’s McGee, starting with the launch of their own independent label, Nothing Too Fancy Music. In June, the band released their eighth studio album Similar Skin, which Relix called, “…the Chicago sextet’s strongest work to date.” Following the release, Umphrey’s had their debut main stage performance at Bonnaroo (their 8th appearance at the festival). Always on the cutting edge of fan-friendly technology, Umphrey’s McGee became the first act to launch the first full service, streaming site for a single artist, via UMLive.net. And in July, the band celebrated their first-ever sold out show at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO.
Recently, Umphrey’s McGee announced twelve live webcasts, billed as the “Couch Tour,” that began in October and continues in November. The first webcast took place on October 22 as part of the Yahoo Music and Live Nation 365 shows in 365 days free series. Following that, the band offered 11 live webcasts (dates and info HERE) in collaboration with webcast partner TourGigs. Audio downloads are available via UMLive.net. The final date of the run is the 2000th show on November 8 in Madison, WI. The band will offer this live stream free as a gift to their loyal fans via this link HERE.
