Lockn’ 2014 is excited to announce performances by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Wilco, Phil Lesh & Friends, Bob Weir & Ratdog,  and a one-of-a-kind collaboration with Widespread Panic and Steve Winwood. Confirmed to play two shows, this will be Wilco’s only festival appearance in 2014. This will also be Lesh’s lone festival appearances in 2014. The four-day music festival, with an emphasis on world-class music, locally sourced food and sustainability, will return to Oak Ridge Farm for its second year from September 4 – 7. The farm is located at the foot of the Blue Ridge in Central Virginia, a mere 35 miles south of Charlottesville, and approximately 100 miles from both Washington, DC, and Richmond, VA.

What sets Lockn’ apart from other festivals is the fact that many of the artists perform more than once over multiple days and also features one band and one performance at a time, therefore creating a perfect scenario in which unique and exciting artist pairings are programmed. Last year, John Fogerty performed with Widespread Panic, Stringcheese Incident and Zac Brown collaborated as did Trey Anastasio with Furthur, and Grace Potter with Gov’t Mule.

Lesh, Weir, Wilco, Widespread Panic and String Cheese Incident will all be playing full sets on two different days each.

The complete Lockn’ 2014 lineup is below.

Lockn’ 2013 was heralded as one of the best festivals of the summer by both the media and fans.

Rolling Stone noted that, Lockn’ “kicked off its inaugural run on a high note when Trey Anastasio joined Furthur onstage.” The Examiner also exclaimed, “If the next one follows the artistic roadmap set here, the fest will be a must-attend destination for years to come,” while Jambase hailed “Lockn’ certainly delivered on its promise of outstanding music and astounding collaboration and artist interaction amongst band members. Oak Ridge Farm was a beautiful and astounding location for a festival.”

Lockn’ was named for traditions central to both festival founders Dave Frey and Peter Shapiro: The inter-locking performances presented at Wetlands and the continuous uninterrupted music featured between the two stages at HORDE. Lockn’s conceptual theme touches all elements of the event: “when something ends, another begins.” This simple yet powerful ethos of sustainability is consistently integrated into the camping, lodging, food, drink, transportation offerings as well as the specialized onsite activities all weekend long, making it one of the premiere events of the summer.
