A couple of months ago, Langhorne Slim received a phone call from a life-long friend at a London ad agency offering him an opportunity to write the music for a 30-second spot for an Italian TV sneaker commercial. Langhorne jumped at the chance to make art with his buddy Jon, and the two began an adventure that has lead to a YouTube smash – Converse X Foot Locker’s “Made to Make A Scene,” featuring Langhorne Slim & The Law’s song “Animal.” In about a months’ time, the spot has skyrocketed to more than 1.9 million YouTube views.
Langhorne Slim & The Law was genuinely surprised that the 30-second spot was a YouTube hit and generated so many positive comments from viewers, so the band decided to record a full-length version of the song. “Animal” opens with jangly and up-beat guitar strumming, but quickly explodes into a cacophony of loud, fast, punk-rock, with Langhorne’s scrappy vocals, and is available starting today exclusively at langhorneslim.com.
Langhorne Slim & The Law is best-known for its infectious Americana/rock anthem “The Way We Move,” that the band performed on “Conan,” was part of Microsoft’s ad campaign for the launch of its Windows 8 operating system earlier this year, and is getting airplay on alt/rock stations across the country.
Langhorne & The Law kicks off its full-length Fall 2013 tour on September 24 at the Bowery Ballroom in New York.
