CBGB Music and Film Festival Announces the SUPERPASS

New Yorkers can relive the rockin’ days of CBGB with the Red Carpet Opening Night Experience at the CBGB Music and Film Festival on Oct. 8th. The Fest announces they will be selling a Super Pass, which includes admittance to the New York Opening Night Red Carpet Premiere of the highly-­‐buzzed about film CBGB, a meet and greet with the filmmakers, the 2013 Music and Film Badge, which allows access to all film screenings and music showcase ($50 value), cool collectibles including the limited-­‐edition 2013 CBGB Music and Film Festival Poster, and infamous CBGB swag.

The festival officially kicks off with the opening night event at the Landmark Sunshine Cinema (143 East Houston St. New York, NY 10002). Super Pass screening time options are 8PM, 8:20PM and 8:30PM.

“We are so excited to be able to bring this experience to the fans,” says CBGB Co-­‐Owner Tim Hayes. “The movie is great, the music is great, and we are happy to be able to bring them together to really create a moment for people.”

The CBGB Music and Film Festival 2013 will present hundreds of musicians in multiple venues across Manhattan and Brooklyn from October 9-­13, 2013. In addition the Festival will showcase over 50 films, and expert speakers during daytime conference programming. (Info./Tickets cbgb.com)

CBGB is a rock ‘n roll true story that tells the tale of the famed venue in 1973 and its iconoclastic founder Hilly Kristal, portrayed by Alan Rickman. The legendary New York City club launched dozens of cutting-­‐edge bands through its closing in 2006 and is known globally as the home of American Punk Rock music and features 16 on-­‐camera musical performances, the film features over 60 classic songs by the Talking Heads, The Ramones, Blondie, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, The Police and The Dead Boys, among others.

CBGB Movie’s star-­studded cast includes Malin Akerman as Debbie Harry (Trophy Wife), Ashley Greene as Lisa Kristal (Twilight franchise), Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory), Rupert Grint (Harry Potter franchise) and Justin Bartha (TheHangover franchise) as The Dead Boys, Stana Katic (ABC’s -­ Castle) as Genya Ravan,Joel David Moore (Avatar) as Joey Ramone, Freddy Rodriguez (Grindhouse)Donal Logue (Copper), Sting’s daughter Mickey Sumner as Patti Smith and Taylor Hawkins of The Foo Fighters as Iggy Pop and Richard de Klerk (Repeaters), Ryan Hurst (Sons of Anarchy), Ahna O’Reilly (Fruitvale Station) and Bradley Whitford(Trophy Wife), and was directed by Randall Miller (Bottle Shock), and written by Miller and Jody Savin.

CBGB the Movie opens in theaters Oct. 11.
