Umphrey’s McGee Takes “Impeccable Playing And Pristine Arrangements” (Village Voice) On Fall Tour


Umphrey’s McGee will continue “expanding the notion of what a rock band can offer” ( with a 13-date tour this fall. The East Coast and Midwest run, which comes on the heels of the Chicago sextet’s headlining tour with STS9, kicks off on Wednesday, October 16 in Burlington, VT and culminates with a three-night residency in Milwaukee, beginning on Halloween.

Tickets for the tour will be available for pre-sale starting on Friday, August 9 at noon ET through Umphrey’s Ticketing ( General on-sale begins on Friday, August 16.

On the tour, Umphrey’s McGee will continue their “Headphones / Snowcones” project, an experiment the NYT recently said, “may change the way we listen to live music.” The concept allows fans to rent studio-grade headphones and wireless packs so they can hear the band’s “impeccable playing and pristine arrangements” (Village Voice) directly from the soundboard.
