The Polyphonic Spree is taking its choral-symphonic spectacular on the road this summer, with a 14-date US tour highlighted by performances at Bonnaroo and New York City’s The Bowery Ballroom, as well as international festival appearances in South Korea, Poland, France, and the U.K.

‘Yes, It’s True’ – the band’s first studio recording of original material since 2007 – will be released on Kirtland Records, with a new street date of August 6, 2013. Kirtland Records also released the band’s 2012 Christmas album, ‘Holidaydream: Sounds of the Holidays Vol. 1.’ Check out the psychedelic cover art for ‘Yes, It’s True’ here: http://shorefi.re/132U6QB

The announcement comes on the heels of the band’s trip to Gulu, Uganda with members of The Very Best, to participate in a documentary on Joseph Kony’s 27-year war. During their stay, the band shot a series of performances for La Blogotheque, collaborating with the Gulu High School Choir on a special performance of “Hold Me Now” from ‘Together We’re Heavy’ and “Raise Your Head” from, ‘Yes, It’s True.’ Invisible Children plans to include this footage in the documentary film, which will celebrate “the human connection through the universal language of music.”

“After returning from Uganda, we decided to partner Good Records with Kirtland Records for this new release. Nothing like clearing your head in Africa and returning with a clear cut vision for the future,” said Polyphonic Spree’s Tim Delaughter. “My belly has butterflies and my heart is as open as the sky for this very special record. All I can say is ‘Yes It’s True’!”
