Walk Off The Earth has premiered a video for their new original song “Gang Of Rhythm” on Mashable.com today. A 3D version of the video also launched today exclusively on the Nintendo Video service for the portable Nintendo 3DS system. The video is a throwback to chain gang cinema, and finds the band as a group of escaped convicts trying to find their way to freedom before a certain bearded lawman can bring them to justice.
“Gang of Rhythm” is one of four original songs on Walk Off The Earth’s recently released R.E.V.O.EP, which gives fans a taste of what to expect on their forthcoming full length album, slated for release in early 2013. The NY Daily News praised the EP’s “rustic folk-pop originals with pluck,” and American Songwriter said of the band “Walk Off The Earth is quite capable of creating their own unique brand of genre-bent pop… [the group’s original songs] did not disappoint, being just as catchy as their covers.” Walk Off The Earth are known for their quirky, innovative videos, and each of the tracks on the EP have a unique visual counterpart.
