Curb/Lost Highway is excited to announce that four-time Grammy Award-winner Lyle Lovett’s new record, Release Me, was released on vinyl this week. It will be a special, double disc, high-quality vinyl – 180 ml, 24-bit, 96k, 200 gram – mastered by Doug Sax and pressed at Quality Record Pressings in Kansas.

Lovett is an artist who is a stickler for quality and goes out of his way to ensure all of his records sound as good as they possibly can. He is a lover of hi-fidelty and a long-time vinyl enthusiast. About the new vinyl release, Lovett says, “this is not your mom and dad’s old vinyl.”

Lovett, who Garden & Gun recently called “one of America’s most beloved singer/songwriters” and was featured in the coveted “What I’ve Learned” column from this month’s Esquire, is currently in the midst of a successful solo acoustic tour with John Hiatt. The run of dates began at the State Theater in Minneapolis on March 7th and will wrap up later this week at the Saenger Theatre in Pensacola on March 25.

Lovett is touring in support of Release Me, which came out on February 28, 2012. The album has been #1 for two weeks and counting on the Americana charts. Produced by Nathaniel Kunkel and Lovett, Release Me represents the end of an era as it’s his last record for Curb/Universal Music Group after being on the label for his entire career. Release Me is quintessential Lyle, mixing a smart collection of originals and covers that show not only the breadth of this Texas legend’s deep talents, but also the diversity of his influences, making him one of the most infectious and fascinating musicians in popular music.

Since his self-titled debut in 1986, Lovett has evolved into one of music’s most vibrant and iconic performers. His oeuvre, rich and eclectic, is one of the most beloved of any living artist working today.
