WHITTON's “Rare Bird” is nominated for “Best Pop Album” for The 11th Independent Music Awards

March 9, 2012 – With a flare of 1940s Americana, WHITTON brings her wishful, singer-songwriter style alive with her 4 to 8-piece band-creating a sound as alluring as Billie Holiday, intense as Norah Jones and complex and eclectic as Regina Spektor.  A modern,”speak-easy” sound.

WHITTON, the youngest of six siblings, began singing and performing at the age of six.  She’s recorded four full-length albums with acclaimed producers David Hauser (Redbone, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Iron Butterfly), Kevin White (writer for Billy Ray Cyrus), and Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Dishwalla).  Also, she’s been featured as a special guest vocalist on SHOWTIME’s “DEXTER”.
