Music City Roots Celebrates 100th Show January 4th, the 2012 Season Opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn., January 3rd, 2012 – Music City Roots: Live from the Loveless Cafe, Nashville’s acclaimed weekly roots/Americana show, is starting the New Year off with a bang!

Music City Roots has been celebrating their sponsors all fall season and today they announced Nashville’s own, Fred Hibbert as the Grand Prize winner of the Spread Your Roots contest! The Spread Your Roots contest climaxed at the end of this year with anticipation for the new season.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the highlights of the 2012 season which include performances by the Black Lilies, The Steel Drivers, Apache Relay, John Cowan, Darrell Scott, Leftover Salmon, The Cleverlys, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver and many more talented veteran and up and coming artists. Music City Roots will also be hosting events throughout the year with their sponsors Whole Foods Market and Blackstone Brewery featuring artists such as Kenny Vaughan and W.B. Givens.

Music City Roots’ 2012 season line-up launches January 4th, at 7:00 p.m. US central time. Longtime host, Jim Lauderdale, will welcome musical guests David Jacobs-Strain, Julie Gribble, Snyder Family Band, Anderson East and Derek Hoke. January 4th’s show benefits the Nature Conservancy and also commemorates Music City Roots’ 100th show! This is an epic milestone for this unique entertainment company that provides an unparalleled experience marrying diverse bands, brands and fans since 2009. This show is not only a celebration, but also a testimony of how Music City Roots lives by their motto of tenaciously defending Nashville’s voice and preserving its soul as Music City, USA.
