Chicago Sun-Times Online has premiered the new music video for “Booth Love” from “consummate musical alchemists” (EW) Umphrey’s McGee. This is the first music video from the band in their decade-plus career.
The “Booth Love” video, directed by Travis Rime Brooks, features cameos from Umphrey’s members, friends, and a few mystery bikini-clad women, set throughout their sunny and vibrant hometown of Chicago. The band will hit the stage in the Windy City for two special Thanksgiving weekend shows, November 25 and 26 at the Aragon Ballroom.
The funk-driven “Booth Love” was lauded as a “ghostly” mix of Marvin Gaye, Radiohead, and Hall & Oates by the LA Times, and has transformed into a live monster since the release of Umphrey’s most recent album, ‘Death By Stereo’ (ATO). The band will take their “impeccable playing and pristine arrangements” (Village Voice) on the road throughout 2012.
