Since the release of her critically acclaimed album Charlatans At the Garden Gate this past spring, Tristen has been on tour non-stop, playing clubs and making festival appearances including her Bonnaroo debut, where she was named by Spin and American Songwriter as and Artist To Watch at the festival. Not content to sit still for any length of time, with a recent break between tours she hit the studio in Nashville to begin recording her next record. Fans who come out to shows this fall and winter will be treated to a preview of the material from the new album, tentatively scheduled for release this coming spring 2012.

A Chicago native who has called Nashville home for the better part of a decade now, Tristen has risen to national attention with the success of her indie debut Charlatans At The Garden Gate. Described at one point by the Boston Globe as “Nashville’s best kept secret,” Tristen has since won praise from all corners for her “addictive debut,” (Rolling Stone) full of “pop hooks and pure inspiration.” (NPR)

“With or without Tristen’s acute capacity to portray relationships and ideology gone wrong, Charlatans is a musical document billowing over with rich, vintage hues and irrepressible hooks, her reverence for the lions of pop music and confident sense of self all meted out in the same breath.”
