Rolling Stone is offering an early taste of bass legend Bootsy Collins’ first new album in five years, ‘Tha Funk Capitol of the World’ (4/26), with an exclusive premiere of “Don’t Take My Funk.” The song, which features contributions from Bobby Womack and Bootsy’s late brother Catfish Collins, rides an irresistible groove and punchy horns. “Don’t Take My Funk” will be available everywhere as a digital single Feb 22, but you can get a first listen here:

Collins collaborated with fellow P-Funkers George Clinton and Bernie Worrell on ‘Tha Funk Capitol of the World,’ along with an all-star lineup of musicians and cultural luminaries including rappers Snoop Dogg, Chuck D, and Ice Cube; actor Samuel L. Jackson; banjo phenom Bela Fleck; the Rev. Al Sharpton; scholar Dr. Cornel West; guitarist Buckethead and more.

Tour dates will be announced soon.
