The third annual The Complete Last Waltz, taking place on Thanksgiving Eve, November 26th at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, NY, is happy to announce even more additions to its already all star lineup for this year’s re-presentation of the historical final show by the legendary The Band in 1976. Acclaimed musicians Cass McCombs, Elvis Perkins, and Eric Slick (Dr. Dog) have been added to the already incredible lineup featuring Nicole Atkins, John Roderick, Matt Vasquez and many, many more. The annual gathering, having relocated to New York state in 2013 after its debut year in San Francisco, is presented by Golden Gate Presents. The night is a celebration of the iconic final concert by The Band on Thanksgiving, November 25th at San Francisco’s Winterland Ballroom, spanning 41 songs and over three and a half hours. The Band was joined on stage by a myriad of famous friends, including Bob Dylan, Paul Butterfield, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Starr, Ronnie Hawkins, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell,Van Morrison, Muddy Waters, Ronnie Wood, Neil Diamond, Bobby Charles, The Staple Singers, and Eric Clapton. The night was filmed by Martin Scorsese and has been hailed as one of the greatest concert films ever made.
This year’s gathering will no doubt continue its tradition of honoring The Band and the joining of contemporaries with their idols to celebrate the music. If you can’t make it to Port Chester, NY, you’ll also be able to watch a live web stream of the show at http://nugs.net/.
