Critically acclaimed artist and songwriter Crowder will release his highly anticipated solo album Neon Steeple on May 27th via Capitol CMG’s sixsteprecords. Long embraced for his tenure as the frontman of the wildly progressive group David Crowder Band, this is his first set of new music in 2+ years and marks his official entrance as a solo artist. Upon the release of his first album single “I Am” last fall, the song has remained in the Top 10 tracks on National Christian radio, peaking at #3, and reaching 6.6 million listeners per week.

David Crowder’s unique blend of folk/pop/electronica style combined with his outstanding musicianship, profound lyrics, and intricate songcraft creates a sound that any fan of a catchy tune can appreciate. Neon Steeple features 14 new tracks of ear-perking originals, including the powerful “My Beloved,” the foot-stomping “Lift Your Head Weary Sinners”, and the graceful “My Sweet Lord” which also includes a special guest duet with folk legend Emmylou Harris. What was originally an idea formed from a stunning image of a steeple on the horizon, this new album continues to highlight Crowder’s knack for innovative songwriting. Prior to embarking on a major US headlining tour at the end of September with special guests All Sons & Daughters,Capital Kings and Ellie Holcomb, Crowder will perform at many top festivals over the summer as well as a stop at Nashville’s famous Grand Ol’ Opry.
“Neon Steeple is a collection of songs and sounds looking forward to the past and counting the present as sacred,” remarks Crowder. “It is a longing for belonging, a search for home. It is a collection of choruses that believe that this is not all there is. It is the sound of the Appalachians and Ibiza. Folk music and EDM. The music of the People. Folktronica. Digital and Analog. The Ones and Zeros and the Handshake. The Banjo and the 808. Neon Steeple is both a critique and a hope.”
