Carolina was recorded at Wild Chorus Studios in Knoxville, TN with Scott Minor (Sparklehorse) and Carey Balch. It was released on March 4, 2014 and is available through RedlegHusky.com, iTunes, Bandcamp, and a variety of other online digital music channels.

Redleg Husky’s folk/Americana sound recalls a long drive, a well-worn record, and boots on a dusty floor. In 2012, Misa Giroux and Tim McWilliams met in Boone, NC, and joined forces to pursue their love of acoustic roots music. A mutual interest in songwriting fueled their collaboration with David Funderburk later that year. McWilliams cites Doc Watson, Muddy Waters, and Stevie Ray Vaughan as major influences, while Giroux plays and writes songs in the styles of Gillian Welch and Mary Chapin Carpenter. Funderburk is an accomplished songwriter whose love of unconventional instruments contributes a wide variety of sonic possibilities to Redleg Husky’s sound. Their eclectic musical backgrounds and Master’s degrees in Appalachian Music have led them to their unique combination of contemporary folk and blues.
They have played countless shows in the Southeast, been featured on the Jonesborough Yarn Exchange, and performed at the 2013 Banff Mountain Film Festival.
Their debut 4-song EP was recorded in January 2013 in Greensboro, NC by Daniel Levi Goans (Lowland Hum) and mastered in Brooklyn, NY by Peter Recine (Allison Weiss, The Files and Fires).
