William Fitzsimmons

William Fitzsimmons’ fifth studio album is out today via Nettwerk Records. Lions was produced by Chris Walla (guitarist for Death Cab For Cutie with previous production credits with Tegan and Sara, The Decemberists and The Postal Service, among others) at Hall of Justice in Seattle. On this record, Fitzsimmons’ explores his personal changes over the years since 2011’s release, Gold In The Shadow.

“He might look like another one of those bearded boys with an acoustic guitar and a sensitive soul, yet the singer-songwriter’s latest LP displays subtlety that distinguishes him.”

– Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

“Fitzsimmons…knocks it out of the park with ‘Fortune,’ a cascading, mysterious song about a moment at the crossroads.” – American Songwriter

Leading up to the release of Lions, Fitzsimmons debuted a few tracks from the record. Late in 2013 Fitzsimmons gave listeners the first taste of the record with the premiere of an acoustic version of his track “Centralia” on  Paste. He released the first single from the album, “Fortune,” in January with a track premiere on American Songwriter and video premiere on The AV Club. Bringing him right up to the release date Fitzsimmons also debuted two other acoustic versions of tracks from the record with “Sister” on The Wall Street Journal and “Took” on Rolling Stone.
