Dangerbird Records is excited to announce that Silversun Pickups will release their Let it Decay 10″ on Friday, November 29th in conjunction with Record Store Day’s Black Friday. The limited edition vinyl release features the brand new track “Let it Decay” as well as “Working Title,” a B-side from the sessions for their latest full-length Neck of the Woods.

“Record Store Day (now Days) has always been important to us,” lead singer/guitarist Brian Aubert said. “We’ve been lucky enough to play special acoustic shows in independent record stores all over the globe. We get to know these places and feel quite blue when we return and they are no longer open. We believe strongly in the importance of these places and will always do whatever we can to help support these stores.” Speaking about the new tracks, Aubert said “we’re happy to be putting out this 10-inch. ‘Let it Decay’ has been a song we’ve had swimming around our heads since the beginning of the band. It feels great to have finally recorded it and place it in a nice home. ‘Working Title’ is the only Neck of the Woods b-side. We love the song but it just didn’t work in the flow of the album. Again, we’re super happy for the song to finally get heard.”

Silversun Pickups recently finished an extensive world tour in support of Neck of the Woods. Upon its release, the album debuted at #6 on the Billboard Top 200, with nearly 41,000 units sold, marking the highest chart position in the band’s career. Rolling Stone gave Neck of the Woods three and a half out of five stars, while USA Today gave the album three out of four stars, calling it “sharp,” and noting its “shades of electronica” and “muscular riffs.” Paste heralded the band’s third studio record as “the best mainstream rock album of the year.” The Los Angeles Times likewise praised Neck of the Woods, awarding it three out of four stars, noting “its allusions all nod to the best stuff from a time when rock acts could be experimental, heavy and platinum-selling at once.” People gave the album four out of four stars, remarking “Silversun’s latest sparkles.”
