LA rock quartet Dawes are excited to announce their upcoming tour supporting the legendary Bob Dylan. Beginning immediately after the band’s recently announced two-week tour of independent record stores across the U.S., the Bob Dylan support tour will begin on Friday, April 5 at Alumni Arena in Buffalo, NY. Dawes will be traveling the country performing songs off their forthcoming full-length album, the Jacquire King (Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, Norah Jones)-produced, Stories Don’t End.

Being released on April 9, Stories Don’t End is Dawes’ first release on their own label, HUB Records. The album’s first single, “From A Window Seat,” recently premiered on RollingStone.com and will also be performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Thursday, May 16. Check out in-studio footage from the recording of the album along with an interview with the band via Paste Magazine online HERE.

While the city of Los Angeles has been both an inspiration and a home to the four members ofDawes – Taylor Goldsmith (lead vocals, guitar), Wylie Gelber (bass), Tay Strathairn (keyboard), Griffin Goldsmith (drums, vocals) – they found themselves traveling East last fall to record their third album in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The tracks they laid down at Asheville’s Echo Mountain Studio have yielded a 12-song disc of tremendous sonic and narrative clarity, book-ended in classic album fashion by two very different versions of the wistful “Just Beneath The Surface” – a misleading title, really, since the songs stacked in between dig so deep. Stories Don’t End is not so much a departure from the quartet’s previous efforts as a distillation of them. It spotlights the group’s maturing skills as arrangers, performers and interpreters who shape the raw material supplied by chief songwriter and lead vocalist Taylor Goldsmith into an artfully concise and increasingly soulful sound.

Dawes will be making the following appearances during March and April, which will include SXSW, their independent record store tour, and supporting Bob Dylan. Tour dates below.
