Celebrated 8-piece “dhol and brass” band Red Baraat has confirmed a string of new U.S. tour dates including shows at Slim’s in San Francisco and the Bootleg Theatre in Los Angeles. The announcement follows a wild performance for a packed house as the band shared a bill with Antibalas at Brooklyn’s Masonic Temple Dec 14, Red Baraat’s last NY show until a Feb 1 headlining CD-release show at Bowery Ballroom.
As anticipation builds for the Jan 22 release of new album Shruggy Ji, the band, loved for “putting some New York bluster atop faraway roots” (New York Times), will announce additional tour details soon including multiple shows in New Orleans during Mari Gras and at SXSW.
