Richard Thompson

We are very proud to announce the addition of The Richard Thompson Electric Trio. A prolific, English songwriter, who dazzles in live performance, Queen Elizabeth recently honored him with an OBE — “Order of the British Empire” designation.  More accolades include a Grammy nomination for his most recent album, “Dream Attic,” the BBC’s Lifetime Achievement Award and Rolling Stone magazine’s “Top 20 Guitarists of All Time.”  Richard plays on Saturday night.

Gaelic Storm, Sahara Smith, Greensky Bluegrass, and Dirtfoot continue to grow the lineup.  Gaelic Storm (below left) plays Celtic music that harkens back to the traditional music of Ireland, adding modern sounds and drawing influences from American rock and pop as well as music styles from around the world.

Fresh from her performance on David Letterman, Wimberley native Sahara Smith (center) is taking the music world by storm. Her dusky voice, haunting melodies and deeply textured lyrics were described by the press as Norah Jones meets Alison Krauss.  And she’s only 22 years old.

Winners of the 2006 Telluride Bluegrass Festival Band Competition, Greensky Bluegrass (above right) is one of the most exciting bands in today’s music scene. Like a breath of fresh air, this five piece band plays traditional bluegrass instruments and uses them to create original songs and soundscapes that are unique and new, yet somehow feel comfortable and familiar.

Dirtfoot wowed OSMF audiences last year with their Louisiana-flavored Front Porch, Whiskey Swillin, Foot Stomping, Gypsy, Punk, Country, Grumble, Boogie.
