Parachute Shooter Records is excited to announce that The Spring Standards have confirmed a run of fall tour dates. Having spent much of the summer supporting Rhett Miller & The Serial Lady Killers, the Brooklyn-based trio will embark on a headlining tour in support of their recently released double EP, yellow//gold. Beginning on September 14th at T.T. The Bear’s in Boston, the tour will hit major cities including New York, Washington, Atlanta, Austin, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, culminating with a stop at Halifax Pop Explosion on October 18th. The full list of tour dates can be found below.

The Spring Standards recently performed on The Conan O’Brien show, having received many glowing press accolades for yellow//goldSPIN Magazine hailed the double EP as “two complementary but discrete collections of music,” while MAGNET stated, “the two EPs create a rich experience of sound and emotion.” Under The Radar adored the “soaring vocal harmonies and a gentle-but effecting-ambience,” and Interview Magazine praised the “haunting vocals and sweeping piano by Heather Robb… of the simple joys of first, unfiltered, innocent love.”

yellow//gold, which was released in May, showcases the rich musical diversity of The Spring Standards. yellow is a 7-song disc filled with warmth and melancholy, that harkens back to the simple magic of voices raised in harmony and the beauty of acoustic instruments. gold is a 5-song battle cry from some dark secret place, full of frustration and excitement, tension and relief, with songs that are pulsing and frantic, desperate to be heard and understood.

The Spring Standards have been told many things about their music since their start in 2008 – it makes people feel warm inside, it touches painful places.  It’s simple and sweet yet dark and utterly confusing.  They’ve been called folk, pop, rock, Americana, indie and everything in between – sometimes all over the course of a 45-minute set.  In spite of this, The Spring Standards are far from a band in the midst of an identity crisis.  They are not trend-chasers or bandwagon riders.  They are honest-to-goodness troubadours who let their music guide them, dutifully following wherever it might lead.
