Discogs, the world’s leading music Database, Marketplace and Community, reached a significant milestone when users surpassed the 500 million music releases added to their collections earlier this month. Alongside this landmark moment for music collectors on Discogs, the contributing Community surpassed 14 million releases recorded in the most comprehensive music database in the world.

To celebrate this astonishing growth, Discogs surveyed over 10,000 members of the Community to understand what their music collections say about them. “Anatomy of a Record Collector” is a definitive look into the collections of music fans worldwide.

“Discogs has seen remarkable growth in the number of people interested in understanding more about their music collections in the last decade,” said Nerissa Sardi, Vice President of Marketing for Discogs. “The collection and discovery tools on Discogs enable our global community to better see, organize and understand the value of their records, CDs, and cassettes. In turn, they have a lot to say about what, why, and how they collect.”
