“Cat Stevens was the first artist I ever fell in love with. ‘Father and Son’ was the first song I ever played live,” explains Kahan. “My dad and I played it at an old folks home when I was in the 3rd grade. Cat Stevens has been a fixture in my life for so long, and when Simone Felice (another massive Cat fan) and I had an opportunity to cover a song, Cat Stevens was the obvious choice.” He continues, “We chose ‘Wild World’ because it is the most immediate and classic song in Cat’s immensely classic discography. I recorded remotely and tried my best to make it as raw and unfiltered as possible. I truly hope we have created something that would make Cat proud.”
Since signing to Republic Records at age 20, Noah Kahan has nearly a billion combined streams and views online, received a gold plaque for his breakout hit “Hurt Somebody” with Julia Michaels and sold out headlining tours around the world.
