The Revivalists have released their brand new studio album entitled Take Good Care (Loma Vista Recordings). PRESS HERE to buy or stream the album, and check out The Revivalists on NPR’s World Café HERE.
Marked by songwriting that is both intensely personal and also an escape, Take Good Care is brimming with sonic complexity, celebration, and catharsis. The Revivalists enlisted Dave Cobb [Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton], Andrew Dawson [Kanye West, Fun., Sleigh Bells], and Dave Bassett [Elle King, Vance Joy] for sessions in New Orleans as well as Nashville, where they recorded at the iconic RCA Studio B, soaking up the aura of one of the most storied studios in music.
Earlier this week, The Revivalists released a live video for their hit lead single “All My Friends” which captures the acclaimed 8-piece’s rock n’ roll spirit, soulful essence and striking live presence during their electrifying sold-out Red Rocks show earlier this Fall – PRESS HERE to watch. The band recently performed “All My Friends” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (PRESS HERE)as the song continues to climb the Top 10 at Alternative Radio and picks up steam at Hot AC after hitting #1 at Triple A. The track is included in numerous Spotify and Apple Music playlists and is being featured onESPN Monday Night Football and Fox Sports Thursday Night Football. Fans have been getting an early taste of some of the other new songs on Take Good Care – such as fan favorite “You And I”, “Got Love” and anti-gun violence anthem “Shoot You Down”- at the band’s live shows. The band will bring more of Take Good Care to the stage during their 2019 headline tour, kicking off January 11th. A digital download of the album is included with every ticket purchase. Album opener “Otherside of Paradise” came to life in just one vocal take bolstered by fingerpicked clean guitars and cathedral-size harmonies. The guttural grooves of “Oh No” spiral towards a fret-burning solo as wild and gritty as David Shaw’s delivery. “Hate To Love You” is tender and gorgeous and “Change” climaxes on a raw howl. “You Said It All” illuminates the dynamics at the heart of the record. The Revivalists also recently released a limited edition 7″ “Shoot You Down” vinyl single powered by RPM, benefiting Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund. The Revivalists felt compelled to put pen to paper and speak to the overwhelming gun violence problem in our society, creating a powerful song that serves as both an emotional balm and a call to action. The vinyl, which is orange – the color of the gun violence prevention movement, is available exclusively at independent record stores around the country. Everytown is leading a movement of more than 4 million Americans working to end gun violence and build safer communities. PRESS HERE to read David Shaw’s exclusive interview with Salon.
