Aaron Lee Tasjan is set to return with Karma for Cheap on August 31st, 2018 via New West Records.  The 10-song set was co-produced by Tasjan, Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow), and Gregory Lattimer (Albert Hammond Jr.) and features Tasjan’s road band – guitarist Brian Wright, bassist Tommy Scifres, and drummer Seth Earnest – with whom he has been touring heavily for the last two years.  Karma for Cheap is the follow up to Tasjan’s critically acclaimed 2016 New West Records debutSilver Tears which was named one of the best albums of that year by multiple outlets including NPR Music. They called it “…an embarrassment of riches in one musical package” while The Wall Street Journal stated, “The album is at once pointed and utterly enjoyable.”

Most people know Tasjan as one of the wittiest, most offbeat, weed-smokin’ & LSD microdosin’ Americana troubadours today, and with Karma for Cheap, he follows his restless muse into the kind of glammy, jingle-jangle, power-pop and psych-tinged sounds he hasn’t dabbled in since his younger days playing lead guitar for a late-period New York Dolls. With Karma for Cheap, Tasjan establishes himself as an artist who not only evolves over time, but isn’t afraid to risk reinventing himself from one record to the next.  He states, “I needed this album to have a sense of adventure and mystery, to feel a little shaky and dangerous at times – something that wasn’t the obvious choice in terms of what people already like about what I do.  I’ve come to realize that I’m a searcher, which means I’m going to be searching forever.”  Today, Garden & Gun premiered the song “The Rest Is Yet To Come,” saying “Since he moved to Nashville in 2013, Aaron Lee Tasjan has become Music City’s cosmic cowboy, sporting sparkly suits and a cheeky wink and grin.  But behind that lurks an astute artist bent on injecting some subversion and fun into what can often be an all-too-serious Americana scene.  He succeeds with aplomb on his sizzling third solo album, Karma For Cheap, upping the volume and splashing fuzzy guitar over Roy Orbison-esque melodies.”  Hear it Here.

Karma for Cheap will be available across digital retailers, on compact disc, standard black vinyl, and limited edition Red & Orange split colored vinyl available at Independent Retailers, and is available for pre-order via NEW WEST RECORDS.
