Given their almost non-stop tour schedule, The Marcus King Band tends to miss out on the family reunions they cherished growing up. “I remember these gatherings were always the happiest time for me as a kid. A stress-free environment where you are free to love the people you’re around,” explains King. “That’s the aesthetic we want to bring to our festival. Community and happiness. There are no separate agendas being forced on anyone. Just an all-around good time.”
A portion of the proceeds from each ticket sold will benefit two local non-profits near and dear to The Marcus King Band: Cannabis Forward, a Greenville-based organization that raises awareness of the medical benefits of marijuana, and Mental Health America of Greenville County, an organization that positively impacts mental health through advocacy, awareness and service.
Late last year, The Marcus King Band released their sophomore, self-titled album that was produced by Warren Haynes and released on Fantasy Records. This year, the band made their network television debut on CBS This Morning Saturday where they performed “Rita Is Gone” and “Ain’t Nothin’ Wrong With That.” Marcus King made the cover of Guitar Player Magazine in August of 2017 as one of “10 Young Players Spreading The Gospel of Kick-Ass Guitar.”
