Over the weekend, Twiddle brought down the house during a 2-night run at New York City’s PlayStation Theatre. Now, the band is treating fans to the official video release of “When It Rains It Pours,” the lead single from the band’s forthcoming double album PLUMP Chapters 1 & 2. The track, already a favorite anthem among the group’s avid followers, was recently re-imagined, re-recorded and re-engineered by veteran producer Ron Saint Germain (311, Bad Brains) for inclusion on Twiddle’s highly anticipated studio albums to be released on April 28, 2017 (The SoNo Recording Group). Watch “When It Rains It Pours” HERE.
“When It Rains It Pours” is for anyone who that has ever had a bad day, month, or year. Many of us can commiserate with the lyrics, “Can’t find your keys again/ The rents been due for weeks/ You need this gig to eat/ Your car starts to leak.” And we’ve all hit that train of thought where it seems “Your problems won’t go away/ They keep piling on your plate/ You just want to escape.” It’s at this moment Twiddle jumps into action laying a foundation of driving drum rhythms behind an upbeat melody, beseeching us all to keep the faith; everything will be just fine. It is this same explosive positive energy that can be felt during Twiddle’s live shows.
“‘When It Rains It Pours’ has always resonated with our fans,” reflects Twiddle frontman Mihali Savoulidis. “We have received many messages on how it has personally impacted our fans’ lives, so we wanted to bring its message to as many ears as possible.”
Twiddle’s live performances recently attracted the attention of music industry critic Bob Lefsetz who attended the band’s Burton’s U.S. Open show in Vail, Colorado at the encouragement of a friend. The show inspired Lefsetz to dedicate a post entirely to the Vermont jam rockers. “I heard that reggae beat interwoven with electronic elements and damned if I didn’t get it. I had to stop and listen,” he said, but what seemed to impress him the most was Twiddle’s proficiency on their instruments, “They’re MUSICIANS!” he stressed.
Lefsetz isn’t the only one who is catching on to the band’s buzz which has already prompted multiple sold-out shows as well as 2-night runs in NYC, Boulder, CO, Syracuse, NY and Columbus, OH on their upcoming spring tour run. Twiddle will also make appearances on the summer festival circuit including performances at Bonnaroo and Camp Bisco as well as headlining 4-sets at Tumble Down, the band’s own 2-day festival in Burlington, VT.
