Enchanting instrumentalists The O’Connor Band released their debut album ‘Coming Home’ earlier this year on Rounder Records, the label that started it all for band leader and GRAMMY and CMA award-winner Mark O’Connor 40 years ago. Now, the fiddle-driven four-piece’s Billboard No. 1 Bluegrass debut is nominated for “Best Bluegrass Album” at the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards.
This is The O’Connor Band’s first nomination as a group and follows O’Connor’s previous GRAMMY Awards for albums ‘New Nashville Cats’ (1992) and ‘Appalachian Journey’ (2001).
“The band wants to thank and acknowledge producer Gregg Field, engineer Neal Cappellino, record label Rounder and John Virant for giving us this opportunity to make this special album with the O’Connor family!” says leader Mark O’Connor.
