Held annually on the first week following Memorial Day, at the Bill Monroe Music Park, Bean Blossom, IN, the John Hartford Memorial Festival, “The Most Laid Back Festival in America”, is on a mission to preserve and continue the legacy, music, and ideals of John Hartford; one of America’s most beloved songwriters, performers, and musicians.
Tickets are now on sale and going fast! According to co-promoter Tom Burkhart, “Our ticket prices are structured to give a break to the first 500 sold. The last two years we sold out of this first tier and we feel this year they will sell out much quicker. We are also working to keep a small festival feeling by lowering the cap of full festival tickets to just 2,000 total. We’ve paid attention to our fans and this year we are lowering the amount of tickets being sold from 2,500 to just 2,000 tickets. We want to make sure that you continue to have ample wiggle room.”
This year’s first round line-up include headliners Steep Canyon Rangers, Travelin’ McCourys & Jeff Austin Present: “The Grateful Ball”, Michael Cleveland & Flamekeeper, Pert Near Sandstone, Rumpke Mountain Boys, Run Boy Run, Larry Keel Experience, Mountain Sprout, The Tillers, Bawn In the Mash, The Lil’ Smokies, Chris Dollar And His String Band, The Hammer And The Hatchet, Joseph Huber, The Last Revel, Growler, Old Salt Union, The Wooks, The
Po’ Ramblin’ Boys, The Ransom Notes, Glade City Rounders, Blunderbus, Whiskey Bent Valley Boys, The Matchsellers, and many more to be announced!
JHMF is also excited to announce the return of our sizzling Fiddle and Banjo contests, our wildly popular Songwriter’s Challenge and Showcase and our crowd-pleasing Story Songs Workshop. Expect more entertaining workshops and events to be announced soon.
JHMF has also earned the reputation of being a musician’s festival. “Jams pop up around the clock so grab your instrument, string up, tune up, and come on, let’s pick!” Burkhart went on to say.
