Gary Clark Jr. has announced additional dates to his current tour. Billed as “A Very Special Evening With Gary Clark Jr.,” the December shows feature the singer, songwriter, and guitarist performing in a rare, solo setting at The Paramount Theater in Austin, and at Carnegie Hall in New York City. These special happenings showcase a very different side of Clark’s oeuvre. The nuance of Clark’s solo performances is no less powerful and soulful than the flash of the full electric experience but with a completely different set of sonic textures –subtle and gritty– yet deeply personal and intimate and not to be missed. As previously announced, Clark’s original new song, “Take Me Down,” will be featured in the upcoming film Deepwater Horizon from Lionsgate’s Summit Entertainment, as well as on the movie’s original soundtrack titled, Deepwater Horizon Original Motion Picture Soundtrack – Music by Steve Jablonsky Featuring an Original Song by Gary Clark Jr., which will be released by Warner Bros. Records onSeptember 23rd. “Take Me Down” will also be released as a digital single beginningSeptember 9th from all participating digital retailers. Click here to order.
Clark and company will perform the song on Jimmy Kimmel Live on October 6th. Tune into ABC stations at 11:35 pm EST/PST, and 10:35 pm CT.
In other Clark news, a new version of the track “Church,” from his current album, THE STORY OF SONNY BOY SLIM, appears in the acclaimed film, Citizen Soldier,directed by David Salzberg & Christian Tureaud, produced by Strong Eagle Media and distributed by Gravitas Ventures.
