Eric Krasno will tour this Fall in support of his new solo album, ‘Blood From A Stone,’ out now on his record label, Feel Music Group. The guitarist/songwriter/producer, assembled the Eric Krasno Band earlier this summer to tour behind the collection. The line-up features bassist Alex Chakour, drummerEric Kalb, keyboardist DeShawn Alexander, rhythm guitarist Danny Mayer and backing vocalist Mary Corso. #EKB, as they’ve quickly become known, will appear tonight at New York City’s Central Park SummerStage, while upcoming dates include three shows in the Bay Area, two of them at Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh’s Marin County-based venue, Terrapin Crossroads. Krasno will then co-bill with Marco Benevento for a treck through the Southeast in October. Later that month, he’ll head to the Midwest for dates, including the debut of his band in Chicago with support from The London Souls—a band he both produced and signed to his label. In November, he’ll be joined by Doyle Bramhall II in the Northeast and Dumpstaphunk for three shows in Texas.
Of Krasno’s new album, Billboard Magazine wrote, “‘Blood From a Stone’ and lead single ‘Waiting On Your Love’ mark a change from Krasno’s earlier funk-imbued style to a more structured blues and R&B-influenced sound.” Indeed, the record, which features appearances by Derek Trucks, as well as members of Soulive, Lettuce and The London Souls, reveals a previously unknown and utterly compelling side of Krasno’s artistry, as he both literally and metaphorically finds his voice.
