Fans of Raleigh, NC-based “bluegrass innovators” (Paste) Chatham County Line will soon find a new way to connect with the band. To celebrate the release of their new album, the band collaborated with Big Boss Brewing to create Autumn, a custom craft beer named for their seventh studio album.
Available August 22, Autumn beer will be on draft and in 750-ml bottles throughout Big Boss Brewing’s distribution network. A unique beer label has been designed and will include information for a microsite – autumn.bigbossbrewing.com – that will host a band- curated Spotify playlist, behind-the-scenes brewery video, Raleigh Beer Trail, and retail locations. A tasting and listening party is planned forAugust 25 at Big Boss Brewing.
“Having our friends at Raleigh’s own Big Boss put together a brew to celebrate the release of our latest album is truly icing on the cake for us – and we think cake is really good,” says Dave Wilson of Chatham County Line. “This fall you can put down the rake, pop a top, and settle into the sounds of Autumn.”
“It was a pleasure to have the band here in the brewery to brew with our team bringing two classic North Carolina institutions together!,” says Dave Rogers of Big Boss Brewing. “We look forward to sharing this beer with everyone this fall.”
The album, set for a September 2 release on Yep Roc Records, boasts 11 original songs and was produced by Dave Wilson. Recorded in two sessions at Fidelitorium Recordings in Kernersville, NC, over the falls of 2014 and 2015, Autumn features poignant songwriting and inventive acoustic arrangements, highlighted by the band’s trademark three-and four-part harmonies.
Chatham County Line—Dave Wilson (guitar/vocals/songwriter), John Teer (mandolin/fiddle), Chandler Holt (banjo), and Greg Readling (bass/pedal steel/piano)—formed in North Carolina in 1999, and have played elegant European concert halls to large American folk festivals.
The band will embark on a 25-city tour in support of the album that includes a performance at WUNC’s 40tth Anniversary show September 10 at the Koka Booth Ampitheatre in Cary, NC. Autumn beer will be available for this special concert. A full list of tour dates is below.
