Newport Folk Festival®, one of the longest running and most historic music festivals in the U.S.A, first went west last year with the debut of Way Over Yonder. The festival was met with open arms, spurring this year’s edition.
Newport Folk Festival was founded in 1959 by famed festival producer George Wein and folk icon Pete Seeger, and is produced by Jay Sweet. In February, for the second year in a row, it received the Best Music Festival award from Pollstar, the concert industry trade publication, and returns to Fort Adams State Park in Rhode Island this July with Ryan Adams, Nickel Creek, Mavis Staples and Jeff Tweedy, and many more.
