Singer and flautist Nuala Kennedy is a fast rising new talent on the Celtic music scene. On the heels of her latest album Noble Stranger (Compass Records), the Nuala Kennedy Band was nominated for Folk Band of the Year by the Scottish Traditional Music Awards and Nuala was featured on the cover of Irish Music Magazine and Sing Out!.
She has also received wide acclaim for several recent collaborative projects including a recording with American songwriter Will Oldham (which received a 5-star review MOJO magazine) and an album with cutting-edge Canadian composer the late Oliver Schroer (which garnered a nomination for a 2012 Canadian Folk Award). Nuala and her band, featuringDonald Hay on drums and percussion, Mike Bryan on guitar and Nuala herself on flute, whistles, keyboard and vocals, kick off 2014 with a 3 week US tour (dates below).
