On January 21, the Reverend Horton Heat will release ‘Rev,’ their first album in over four years and their debut for Victory Records. On ‘Rev,’ “the most popular psychobilly artist of all time” (All Music) embraces the punk spirit of their new label’s roster with the hardest-rocking album of their career. The band returns to the road this week for a 50-date North American tour, including dates in NYC (1/24 at Irving Plaza), Chicago (1/17 at House of Blues), and a three-night stand at LA’s Roxy Theatre (3/21-23). Openers include everyone from Wanda Jackson to Dead Kennedys’ Jello Biafra. See full tour dates below.

Vice/Noisey premiered the new music video for “Let Me Teach You How to Eat,” featuring burlesque star Michelle L’Amour and a group of ’50s pinup girls noshing on steaks and shortcakes. Watch it here:http://bit.ly/1aRwBj8

Produced by Jim “The Rev” Heath himself, the thirteen new, original songs on ‘Rev’ find the frontman who has toured with everyone from Johnny Cash to the Sex Pistols looking back to his earliest influences, such as Glen Campbell, Leiber and Stoller, and even the Ventures on surf rock homage “Zombie Dumb.” “When I was a kid, the drum part to ‘Wipeout’ was what we all tried to do while sitting at our desks in math class,” Heath says.

Song influences span the band’s career. “Scenery Going By” was inspired by a recent drive past small towns in Kansas, lamenting the musician’s lot of never getting to know the places one tours through. “Longest Gone Man,” on the other hand, was one of the first songs the Rev wrote, but remained unreleased until Johnny Rotten himself got his hands on an early demo a few years ago and expressed his admiration.
