Trixie Whitley will tour into the Spring in support of her debut record, Fourth Corner (Strong Blood). The dates feature a mix of solo performances along with some accompanied by a full band, such as Whitley’s performance at this summer’s Bonnaroo Music Festival. Trixie and her voice, described by Paste as “enormously dramatic” and by Relix as “smoky and steamy” will be a must-see as she takes it on the road.

Fourth Corner was recorded in New York with producer/keyboardist Thomas Bartlett (AKA Doveman who has also worked with Glen Hansard, The National, Grizzly Bear, and Antony and the Johnsons), Engineer Pat Dillett (David Byrne, St. Vincent, Mary J. Blige), with string arrangements by Rob Moose (Antony, Bon Iver). Since the record’s release, it has received praise from the likes of The Village Voice describing it as “musical film-noir” and her distinct voice praised by The New York Times and American Songwriter. Trixie has hit the top 10 on public radio with extensive play and appearances on NPR’s Weekend Edition, WYNC Soundcheck, The World Cafe, and an upcoming visit to KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic on May 29.
