Beth Hart, whose captivating performance with Jeff Beck at the 2013 Kennedy Center Honors prompted a spontaneous standing ovation from an audience that included President and Mrs. Obama, is about to launch her first U.S. headline tour in more than a decade.  The Los Angeles-born singer/songwriter will bring her Janis Joplin-esque pipes to clubs and other intimate venues beginning April 30 at Stubbs Indoors in Austin, TX with plans to tour extensively through to the end of the year.  The first to go on sale were Hart’s two New York shows, and both sold out within hours; Hart’s Nashville show also sold out and a second date has been added. Confirmed dates are below.

This tour marks a personal victory for Hart who has been working to reestablish her career in North America for some time.  She was living the major label dream in the late 90s, armed with major label support, a hit single with “L.A. Song,” great press, choice tours, and national TV bookings.  But then addiction and an undiagnosed bi-polar disorder sent her career into a tailspin.  She hit bottom, then began the process of turning her life around.  Now healthy, happy, married and clean for the past decade, Hart has been rebuilding the buzz and fan base in Europe where she regularly plays to thousands of fans.  Collaborations with artists like Jeff Beck, Slash and Joe Bonamassa have further propelled her path forward.

With this tour and the April 2 release of Bang Bang Boom Boom, Hart is preparing for North America to take a fresh look at her.  Bang Bang Boom Boom was produced by Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Joe Bonamassa), features 11 stunning blues, rock, jazz and soul-influenced tracks, all written or co-written by Hart, and recorded with some of the finest musicians working today.  The title track is set to make its debut at radio in March; Rolling Stone made the song its “Daily Download,” so check it out here.

On the tour, Hart will be joined by her long-time band – Tom Lilly on bass, Jon Nicholas and P.J. Barth on guitars, and drummer Todd Wolff – and will draw from Bang Bang Boom Boom as well as her catalogue for the set list.
