The Deep Dark Woods appear in the new motion picture Safe Haven (in theaters February 14) performing a brand new original song, “My Baby’s Got To Pay The Rent,” written specifically for the movie.
The band is also featured on the soundtrack for the film. The movie is based on the bestselling book by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook) and directed by Oscar nominee Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Chocolat).
Safe Haven is a romantic thriller starring Julianne Hough, Josh Duhamel and Cobie Smulders. It’s about a young woman with a mysterious past who moves to a small North Carolina town. In it, the Deep Dark Woods play themselves and perform during a scene at a July 4th party.
The Deep Dark Woods are going into the studio this spring to record their new Sugar Hill/Six Shooter album with producer Jonathan Wilson (Dawes and Father John Misty).
