Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will bring NOLA to Brooklyn this summer, headlining at the Prospect Park Bandshell on June 29 as part of Celebrate Brooklyn! 2012, Brooklyn’s free, summer-long performing arts festival. This show comes as part of a massive worldwide tour for the 6-piece outfit that includes stops at LA’s Hollywood Bowl, prestigious music festivals in the U.S. and abroad, and European dates supporting mentor Lenny Kravitz. Since the release of his new album ‘For True’ (Verve Forecast), Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews was honored at Tulane University’s Commencement with the President’s Medal of Honor, appeared on the official New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival poster and on the covers of Downbeat and Jazziz Magazines, performed at The White House, on Conan, Ferguson, Fallon, NPR’s Tiny Desk, WBEZ’s Sound Opinions, WNYC’s Soundcheck, and much more.
