Ricky Skaggs, the 14-time GRAMMY winner, will preview his 2011 “Treasure Chest” tour at B.B. King Blues Club on January 9, 2011. This is Skaggs’ first tour with a full band in over 20 years. Returning to the style that made him one of the best-selling artists in Country history with an incredible string of 11 #1 Country hits, 12 Top 20 Country albums and a 1985 CMA Entertainer of the Year award, Skaggs’ “Treasure Chest” tour will find him performing sets that pull from his entire storied career.
Skaggs’ musical journey has seen him work and perform with everyone from Bill Monroe to Jack White, and fans can expect to hear everything from bluegrass breakdowns to ’80’s country hits “Heartbroke” and “Highway 40 Blues” to songs from his latest critically acclaimed, GRAMMY-nominated release ‘Mosaic,’ which the Associated Press calls “a reminder that, in a larger context, [Skaggs’] career has often found him experimenting with his influences — and always following his creative heart. That heart is on full display here.”
