May 1, 2012 – (Burbank, CA) – Americana– the first album from Neil Young & Crazy Horse in nearly nine years — is now available for pre-order on Young’s website www.neilyoung.com.

The album will be available in FLAC, CD, and 180-gram vinyl formats, and comes with an exclusiveAmericana T-shirt. Fans who pre-order the album will also receive a digital download of the song “Oh Susannah.” A special bundle of the “Oh Susannah” single and video is available through all participating digital outlets starting today. Click here to purchase. The video is from actual early American archival footage. 

Americana is a collection of classic, American folk songs. In their day, some of these may have been referred to as “protest songs,” “murder ballads,” or campfire-type songs passed down with universal, relatable tales for Everyman.

The album was produced by Neil and John Hanlon along with Mark Humphreys, and engineered by John Hanlon with John Hausmann and Jeff Pinn. It was recorded at Audio Casa Blanca by John Hanlon. Crazy Horse is: Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina, Poncho Sampedro, and Neil Young.
